Lived here 33 years and went this evening for the first time. Walk in and you're greeted by the wood paneling, yellow lights, booths diner style , vintage beer signs and decor. If anything pop your head in to see it. Onto the grubbbb. I had the Muffelatta Burger ; I was back in New Orleans in the alley deli, sipping on a canned Diet Coke ! Wait til you see the can opener... My boyfriend had the burger of the week/day , it was the Carolina Barbeque Burger... I wasn't jealous cause I'll snag me a bite of the leftovers Sean, Shawn , however you spell it, sorry my guy... he was phenomenal behind the bar , and Matt is always a great host anywhere you get to see him in town.

This place was amazing! Cooks Burger Bar features a fun selection of crafted burgers, and inspired treats to choose from. If you are looking for a fun, Gluten Friendly night out, Cook’s is your place. Most of their menu can be prepared GF, and the knowledgeable staff made sure all our selections were safe. We enjoyed a lot of really great food—two amazing burgers, Cheerwine glazed wings, tallow fries, and SPAM fries, and decadent guilty pleasure. No complaints! This farm to table kitchen delivers on flavor, service, and a really cool retro vibe. Well worth a visit!

This place literally has it all for me...and then my family. We stopped in there before headed back to Raleigh after a weekend at Busch Gardens and they did not disappoint. The food was on point, the space was retro but modern (which, as a designer, had me drooling before the food was even served), the service was impeccable and drinks were perfect. My fiancee and I had their Cook's canned beer and the kiddos had milkshakes that they still talk about. Can't wait to come back! Thanks yall.

Great little place. Had no idea other than it had good reviews what I was going into. I’m town for the weekend for a sports event and stopped for some drinks and burgers. Burger was excellent and the potato salad was wildly delicious and completely unexpected. Oh and that pickle was dillicious

Cook’s burger bar beat my expectations. We ordered both the specials at the moment: the Irish burger and the Shepards pie. The burger had garlic aioli sauce on flat tater tots and came with the perfect fries. The shepards pie came out great on a small cast iron pot and was served with a flattened and crispy burger bun that was cut into chips. I’m saving this on my Google maps so that I can remember to come back when I’m in the area.

Had an amazing experience here! From the moment we sat down, Sean took such great care of us—super friendly, attentive, and made the whole visit feel personal and welcoming. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it really made a difference. The atmosphere was the perfect blend of relaxed and upbeat—great energy without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can hang out, enjoy great conversation, and just feel comfortable. Now, the food... absolutely phenomenal. The burgers were some of the best I’ve ever had—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. What really stood out were the unique items on the menu, using ingredients sourced from a local farm, which made everything taste incredibly fresh and special. It’s not your average burger joint—they really go the extra mile with creativity and quality. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great service, awesome vibes, and next-level food. We are from out of state and we can’t wait to come back!

This place is my new favorite spot in Williamsburg, you can tell they use quality ingredients. The burger, the fries, the ambience, & the service was all wonderful. We had Damont as our server & he was phenomenal. He recommended things since we haven’t been here talked us into ordering a peach cobbler for dessert and boy are we glad, it’s better than mine. 100 out of ten. Thanks for bringing a worthwhile place to Williamsburg! This place is a must try! *edit to add* We have been here multiple times & it’s consistently good. We love it here!

You can get your burger anyway you want it. Exactly and expected. What you aren't expecting is wings tossed in a cherywine glaze. Or maybe it's deviled eggs in a pickled beet egg. I know you didn't just come all this way for spam fries, because the fries fries are family sized. There is a great vibe. A lovingly curated montage of great chef photos on 1974 wood paneling. And a neon lit bar. Do this. Do it more than once. Ask for Jude if you don't just sit at the bar. My only complaint: What's up with no Xx or Xxxl tees man?
